At the turn of the 19th century, artists faced a new challenge: Modernism. Transportation, industrialization and a burgeoning middle class transformed the way artists interacted with and captured the world. In the early 21st century, we face a similar transformation. Humanity is facing a technological revolution where socialization, interaction and communication are being both enhanced and disrupted by media and technology. This body of work seeks to capture the discrepancy we currently face by combining traditional portraiture with glitched or digitally altered images.
