To Those Who Have Helped Keep My Head Above Water is a monument to those who have been a constant, even when I wasn’t. Consistent with the duality of this piece, the destruction of this work is as equally important as the construction and arrangement. These works have a limited lifespan—it will exist in the Washington State University Museum of Art for 30 days, after which it will be disassembled from its frame, cut into twelve equal pieces and given to loved ones.
